Join the Northbrook Civic Foundation, make a difference in our Northbrook community
The mission of the Northbrook Civic Foundation is to raise funds that go back to our community in the form of grants and scholarships. Being a Member is great way to get involved in the Northbrook community, give back to others, and. of course, make new friends while pursuing our mission. We have a great time together in our structured, yet informal and fun, meetings and gatherings.
We welcome new members throughout the year. As a member, one can attend the monthly Civic meeting as well as the Northbrook Days Committee meetings. Members choose which Civic and Northbrook Days Committees they would like to serve on. Members can and should invite friends to attend meetings, social events or to volunteer for our annual Northbrook Days Festival.
Civic Foundation general meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month. Board Member meetings start at 6:30 PM and the General Member meetings start at 7:30 PM. All Members are invited to attend Northbrook Days meetings held on the 1st Wednesday of each month. While still fun, Northbrook Days planning and execution are taken very seriously. It is our main fundraiser that helps fuel our mission.
The meetings take place at the Northbrook Public Library in the Northbrook Civic Room on the first floor. Please note that meeting dates, times and locations are subject to change. Monthly meeting information is emailed to all members.
To apply for membership, one needs to 1) Volunteer at the Northbrook Days Festival and attend one General Civic meeting, or 2) Attend two General Civic meetings. High schoolers can join as Junior Members. Then, current Members vote to approve a new Member. Once approved, Members come to as many meetings as they can. No Committee meets more than once a month, and many are via email. Member Dues are $20.00 per year. There are no Dues for Junior Members, nor do they vote. Every Civic Foundation Member must participate in the actual Northbrook Days Festival, whether in person on those days, with “Ticket Writing”, or in another approved way.
